The California Secretary of State provides an Apostille to authenticate a public official's signature on documents to be used outside of the United States of America. 

Sometimes a notary stamp is not enough for a document you need notarized for use in another country. In addition to being notarized, documents for use internationally must be certified by the State in which the notary resides. The Secretary of State will verify the notary's signature, current good standing, their valid Notary Commission and matching signature. The Secretary of State will then certify the document with an Apostille certificate. 

Not all documents requiring an Apostille need to be notarized. If they do, we will visit you at a location of your choice to do the notarization. If they do not need to be notarized and if it is more convenient for you, we will be able to handle the process through mail.
