APOSTILLE, AUTHENTICATION & LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS

We are a professional mobile notary service dealing directly with the Secretary of State of California. We will travel to wherever you are located to handle your Apostille and Notary needs.

What is an Apostille?

An Apostille is a certification performed by the Secretary of State and is a verification to governments of foreign nations that the Notary Public who notarized a document is in good standing, licensed and that the notary's signature matches what they have on file.

Sometimes a document you need notarized is for use in another country and a notary stamp by a notary is not enough. Documents for use internationally, in addition to being notarized, must be certified by the State in which the notary resides. The Secretary of State will verify the Notary's signature, current good standing and valid commission and matching signature. The Secretary of State will then certify the document with an Apostille certificate.

Our company handles in a timely manner the complete Apostille process for documents to be used abroad. For countries belonging to the Hague Convention, the Apostille process, which involves only the Secretary of State of California, is enough. However, for countries who are not members of the Hague Convention, such process is longer and often includes dealing with the embassy of the countries where the documents will be used, with the Department of State in Washington, and with the Chamber of Commerce.

Not all documents requiring an Apostille need to be notarized. If they do, we will notarize them during our visit to you. If they do not need notarizing, we will be able to handle the process through the mail or by email.
